How to Start a Purpose-Led Business as a Mom

How to Start a Purpose-Led Business as a Mom

6 months ago, I launched The Bean Walk. A small, soulful space inspired by my love for culture, creativity, and children. I didn’t have it all figured out, not even closeBut I had a vision. A need to connect families through meaningful clothing, handmade values, and homegrown brands.

Something that is lest wasteful in the kids fashion industry and introduce slow fashion more in the families.

Most days, I work between nap times and doubts. I question if it’s working. But then, I remember: purpose isn’t about the loudest wins. It’s about staying rooted.

If you’re a mom thinking of starting something — this is your sign. You don’t need perfect plans. You need an anchor, and the willingness to begin.

Start where you are. Start soft.

But please, start.

1. Start with what tugs at your heart
It may begin in the quiet moments — while feeding your child, scrolling at midnight, or missing a piece of yourself. That spark? That’s exactly how I started at 3 am in the night.
2. Let your values lead your vision
Ask yourself: What kind of world do I want my child to grow up in? Build something that contributes to that world — even in a small way.
3. Be okay with starting slow
It’s okay if your business grows with your baby. You don’t need to rush to be valid.
4. Use motherhood as your superpower
You now see life through deeper lenses — of compassion, practicality, and legacy. That’s not a been my limitation — it’s my edge.
5. Don’t wait for perfect clarity — move with intention
You won’t always know the whole path. But if it feels like home in your gut, take the first step. Build the bridge as you cross it.
6. Know that purpose isn’t always loud
Sometimes it’s stitched quietly into a garment, a caption, a customer reply.
I wish you all the best, lots of love !
from the heart of a mom who just had a business baby and still figuring out :)
